Monday's

Monday's are the worst and I seem to always have little issues on the first day back in reality. This morning I was running extremely late, realized I had no coffee and no breakfast. So I quickly run to starbucks craving iced coffee and their delicious honey yogurt and granola. Searching the food section I cant seem to find the honey yogurt, instead the berry blend-the one with fake fruit. As I'm talking to myself trying to decide if I should stick with a healthier option or cave in and buy a cinnamon swirl coffee cake I realize I have backed the line up. And thats when I see this guy I went to highschool with. I casually put my head down hoping he doesn't notice me but of course he does and starts to chat my ear off. Have I mentioned I am NOT a morning person? Frazzled I order the wrong drink, while the man behind the counter must have had a bad case of the Monday's as well because he gave me a fork for my yogurt instead of as spoon! But the day is looking up, and here are a few qoutes that help me get through my Monday!

Olive's New Do

Just moved, spotty internet for awhile but here is a pic of Olive's new do (she's usually much fluffier).

XOXO

Opening Ceremonies

Left: DVF dress (scored on HauteLook & in the mail!) Top Right:  Old Navy shirt, JCrew Shorts (old), Vintage Clutch, Essie Nails: Lollipop, Aruba Blue, & Luxe Effects-Set In Stone, Ralph Lauren & Privileged(via Gilt) Jewelry.  Bottom Right: Outfit featured in Glamour Article about Olympic style

With the opening ceremonies for the Summer Olympic Games just hours away, it is hard to concentrate on anything work related. I'm ready to break out the Red, White & Blue and become obnoxiously American! My 4th of July outfit and American flag manicure, pictured above, may have to make a re-appearance.

There are so many different ways to rep the USofA and still look stylish. Glamour posted a great article featuring "5 Super Chic Ways to Show Your USA Pride." My favorite outfit is pictured above.

Mixing stripes with prints is one of my favorite looks and the perfect way to be festive this Olympic season! This skirt (on sale!) would be great with a red gingham blouse (or I often prefer JCrew's men's shirts). I am also loving this festive chambray top!

Along with brainstorming more patriotic yet stylish outfits for Olympic parties, I'll be keeping an eye on my Olympic crush, Jake Dalton. Super hot, no?

P.S. A great Opening Ceremonies drinking game - drink (sip) every time you pronounce a country incorrectly (props to my college roomie). Use wisely.

Dressing Drink

Pink Grapefruit Margarita

L and I both love a good, cheesy beach read and sometimes really great ideas come from them. Last summer I read  The Summer We Read Gatsby by Danielle Ganek. I was drawn to it because of my love of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby (I can't wait to see the movie)!

The Summer We Read Gatsby is about two half sisters spending the summer in their eclectic aunt's Hampton House (rough life). It is filled with romance, fabulous parties and quirky characters. One part in particular stuck with me and became a habit of my own - The Dressing Drink. A drink to sip on while you get ready for the evening. Brilliant!

During a weekend in DC, a friend of mine pulled out this Grapefruit Margarita recipe she found on Pinterest. It was the perfect dressing drink! Light, fruity, a little tangy and the perfect amount of kick.

There were three of us, and one glass is never enough, so we doubled the recipe. We didn't have enough limes but lime-aid was a great replacement. I poured some left over Orangina into my glass, delicious! There is no better way to start the weekend!

Happy Dressing!

Fresh

L and I have finally decided to start the blog we've been talking about for far too long. This is our place to gush over beautiful colors, fabulous styles, delicious recipes and brag about our dogs, Olive and Grover. With exciting, super fun jobs in finance and accounting, we need a place to show off our stylish sides.

To start us off, here is a fresh bit of celebrity gossip. Kristen Stewart, the new Hollywood home-wrecker. She always did seem a little mischievous. Quite an interesting role model for all the young Twilight Tweens. Poor poor Rob.

I can't post this without admitting that I've read the Twilight series. I am not ashamed, they were wildly entertaining. L would probably like for me to state that she has not and will not read Twilight.

Back to work,
